Two apps, zero profit, one plan
Launch month is over, so here are the numbers nobody posts. Tamadoggo made enough to cover its own hosting, which I'm choosing to call a milestone. Civiti made nothing, by design — it was never supposed to.
The honest math
Apple takes its cut before optimism does. After the developer fee, hosting, and one regrettable App Store ad experiment, the night operation runs at a loss a spreadsheet politely calls "investment phase".
revenue - apple_cut - hosting = sadness
The contracting work funds all of this. That's not a confession, it's the model. Day job pays; night builds matter.
One plan
- Ship Statlark's tracking script to three real sites. Mine counts as one.
- Stop rebuilding the Tamadoggo onboarding. It's fine. It's fine.
- Write these letters monthly, whether or not the numbers improve.
The goal isn't to look successful. The goal is to keep an accurate logbook until the boat floats on its own.
More next month. Same water, slightly better course.
Get the next one when it ships.
